Rear Admiral Upal Kundu assumed charge as COS SNC. An alumnus of INA, he was commissioned into IndianNavy on 01 Jul 1991.

• The Flag Officer is an ASW specialist and has commanded INS Trikand, INS Kuthar, erstwhile INS Akshay and ashore units INS Tanaji and INS Kadamba.
• He has tenanted various operational and staff appointments at Headquarters WesternFleet, WNC and NHQ.
• A graduate of DSSC Wellington and Joint Higher Command Course (SESKO-TNI) Indonesia, he was also Commodore Bureau of Sailors. On promotion to Flag rank, he assumed duties of CSO(Trg) at SNC prior taking over as Chief of Staff.
