Aadi Perukku, also known as Pathinettam Perukku, is an auspicious festival celebrated by Tamil community people to honour the monsoon season and the life-sustaining properties of water.  It falls on the 18th day of the Tamil Calendar, marking the onset of the monsoon season in Tamil Nadu. Celebrants of the festival express their gratitude to the God of monsoon, mother nature, and river Kaveri.
