According to an SBI Research report, the State Bank of India (SBI) contributed $44 billion to the global economy in FY25. This amount represents approximately 1.1% of the world’s incremental GDP, showcasing SBI’s significant role in global economic growth.

• SBI alone accounted for $44 billion, or 1.1%, of the $4.1 trillion growth in global GDP during FY25.
• India’s total contribution to global GDP growth was $297 billion (6.7%), with SBI contributing nearly 16% of that amount.
• SBI contributed 8.7% to India’s total Gross Value Added (GVA) in the financial services sector, with its own GVA rising to Rs.1.38 lakh crore.
• With a standalone net profit of Rs.70,901 crore in FY25, SBI ranks among the top 50 global banks in terms of assets and pre-tax profits.
• SBI currently serves over 52 crore customers in 29 countries and plays a leading role in financial inclusion and social security schemes across India.
