The Kamar tribe, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) in Chhattisgarh, has been awarded habitat rights under the Forest Rights Act.

• . Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel presented habitat rights certificates to the leaders of 22 Kamar tribe settlements in the Dhamtari district.
• The Kamar tribe holds the distinction of being the first PVTG in the state to be granted habitat rights, signifying a landmark step towards preserving their indigenous way of life. Approximately 22 settlements of Kamar Tribe families located in the Magarlod block of Dhamtari district are among the beneficiaries of this momentous decision.
