Duties of Labour Court: The court shall hold the proceedings expeditiously as soon as it is practicable. The court shall submit the awards to the appropriate government after the conclusion of the proceedings. The matters relating to day to day working shall, usually, be dealt with by the labour court. The Second Schedule of the Act specifies the matters are: a. To pass an order regarding the propriety or legality of an employer under the Standing Orders. b. To interpret and applicability of standing orders. c. To grant relief to the employees wrongfully terminated/dismissed from services including re-instatement. d. Illegality of a strike or a lock-out. e. Such other matters which are not specified in the Third Schedule of the Act and assigned to it under the Industrial Disputes Act
