The Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana started on April 1, 2008, and was a project controlled by the Ministry of Labour and Employment. On 1st April 2015, it came under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the reports of February 2014, a total of 36 million families have been enrolled under the RSBY Scheme.
