Confinement Expenses is lump sum payment made to an insured woman or an insured person in respect of his wife if the confinement occurs at a place where necessary facilities under the ESI Scheme are not available. At present the confinement expenses paid is Rs. 5000/- w.e.f. 1.10.2013 per confinement. It is admissible for two confinements only.

Confinement expense increased from rs.5000 to rs.7500 by Esic during its 181 meeting in Feb 2020
It is Rs 5000 only, and for which expenses you are talking , this facility is for pregnant ladies who are not able to avail maternity services of ESIC dispensaries or hospitals due to unavoidable reasons and take treatment in other hospitals. It is not available to all women in general
