In the year 1918 father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi along with Anasuya Sarabhai and Shankerlal Banker founded the Ahmadabad textile labour association. On December 4, the Indian Textile Labour Association celebrated 100 years of existence with an event at the Majoor Mahajan complex at Ahmedabad's Lal Darwaza.
The Textile Labour Association was founded on December 4, 1917, by 'Motaben' Anasuya Sarabhai & mentored at the time by Mahatma Gandhi. At that time the association was known as the Majoor Mahajan Sangh.
