If 1 litre of water weighs 1 kg, then how many cubic millimeters of water will weight 0.1 gm?
1
10
100
1000
Sol. Ans.(c).
Given 1 litre = 1 kg.
We know that 1 m3 (1 cubic metre) is exactly 1000 Litres.
=>1000 litre = 109 cubic millimetres.
(How? 1 m x 1 m x 1 m = 100 cm x 100 cm x 100 cm = 1000 mm x 1000 mm x 1000 mm = 109 mm3)
=>1 litre = 106 cubic millimetres = 1 kg = 1000 gm
So 0.1 gram = 102 mm3 = 100 cubic millimetres.
