Police have seized counterfeit currency notes of over ? 85 lakh face value from Thane city of Maharashtra and arrested Mukesh, Kapil and Seema. They were about to deliver this currency to Sachin and Mahesh. The arrest was made by Thane police's Crime Unit-V (Wagle Estate). Acting on a tip-off that some persons were coming to Kapurbawdi Circle on Wednesday evening for the sale of fake currency notes, a police team led by senior inspector Vikas Ghodke laid a trap and seized fake ? 2,000 denomination notes of ? 85.48 lakh face value. Whoever delivers to another person as genuine any counterfeit currency which he knows to be counterfeit, but which that other person is not aware of at the time when he received it, is guilty of counterfeit currency.
Imagine, there is an agreement between Sachin and Mahesh that after receiving counterfeit currency they will buy drugs and distribute it to various college students but Mukesh, Kapil and seema has refused to supply them counterfeit currency.
Consider the following statements.
Mukesh, Kapil and Seema all are guilty of the offence as they were previously involved in the counterfeit currency racketing.
only Sachin and Mahesh are guilty of the offence as they were in consonance with each other.
Mahesh and Sachin aren’t guilty of the offence as they didn’t receive the supply of the drugs.
No one is guilty of the offence.
only Sachin and Mahesh are guilty of the offence as they were in consonance with each other and mukesh, kapil and seema aint guilty of an offence because the refused to supply drugs.
