UP govt to build a zoo named after Ashfaqullah Khan

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has approved a proposal to set up a Zoological garden on the Name of freedom fighter and revolutionary Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The zoological garden to be set up at the cost of Rs. 234 Crore and spread across 121 acres.
Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan zoological garden was proposed in 2008-2009 to attract tourists and to increase employment opportunities.
At present there are two zoological gardens in Uttar Pradesh namley, Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden in Lucknow and Kanpur Zoological Park in Kanpur.
