Context: Recently, Union Minister Jitendra Singh launches new portal under Bhuvan “Yuktdhara” to facilitate planning of new MGNREGA assets using Remote Sensing and GIS based information.
About Yuktdhara

• It will help in facilitating new MGNREGA assets using remote sensing and geographic information system-based data.
• The portal will serve as a repository of geotags created under various national rural development programmes like such as MGNREGA, Integrated Watershed Management Programme, Per Drop More Crop and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana etc., along with field photographs.
• The Yuktdhara portal would ensure quality of plan, enable a long term monitoring of the assets created over the years for relevance, facilitate identification of new works for resource allocation.
• Yuktdhara-based plans will be prepared by grassroot functionaries and verified by appropriate authorities for relevance and resource allocation
• The portal has been jointly developed by ISRO and Ministry of Rural Development.
• The name given is very apt as the word 'Yukt' is derived from 'Yojanam' (planning) and 'Dhara' indicates flow.
