Explanation:

(A-B) : (B-1) = 3:4

(A+1) : (B+1) = 4:5

let the present age of A and B is x. Then

A/B =(3x+1+1)/(4x+1+1)

(3x+2)/(4x+2) = 4/5

15x + 10 = 16x+8

x = 2

(3x+1) + (4x+1) = 6+1+8+1 = 7+9 =16year
