Let the present age of crocodile be x years and his parent’s age = y years.
From 1st condition,
(x + 26) / (y + 6)=7/9
= 9x+234=7y+182
= 9x – 7y = 52 …1
From 2nd condition,
(x – 50)/(y – 50)=3/7
= 7x-350=3y-150
= 7x – 3y = 200 …2
Multiplying equation 1 by 3 and equation 2 by 7 and subtracting both equation
from (i)
= 27x – 21y = 156
= 49x – 21y = 1400
