A five-digit number is formed by the digits 1,2,3,4,5 with no repetition. The probability that the number is even is?

The total number of numbers=5!

=5×4×3×2×1

=120

For even numbers,2 or 4 has to be at unit place.

If 2 is at the unit place, then the total number of numbers=4!

=4×3×2×1

=24

And if 4 is at the unit place, then the total number of numbers=4!

=24

Therefore the total number of even numbers=24+24

=48

Therefore required probability=48/120

=12/30

=6/15
