    In a wedding party, there was a bowl of daal for every three guests, a bowl of rice for every two of them and a bowl of vegetable salad for every five of them. If in all there were 62 bowls of food, then how many guests were there in the party ?

    Explanation:

    Let the number of daal bowls be x , the no. of rice bowls be y and the no. of vegetable salad bowls be z.

    Now x + y + z = 62

    And 3x = 2y = 5z

    Solving these two equations , we get x = 20 , y = 30 and z= 12

    Therefore , number of guest in the party 3x = 2y = 5z = 60
