Explanation:

x² +4x² = r² , x² = r² / 5 ,
Area of square inscribed in semi circle = 4x² = 4r²/5................(1)

y² + y² = 4r² => 2y² = 4r²
Area of square inscribed in circle = y² = 2r² ......................(2)
$Hence\: required\: ratio = \frac{4x^{2}}{y^{2}} = \frac{\frac{4r^{2}}{5}}{2r^{2}}=\frac{2}{5}$
