    According to the equation
    (x + y) = 2.5(x− y)
    ⇒ x + y = 2.5x – 2.5y
    ⇒ 3.5y = 1.5x
    ⇒x:y = 7:3
    x = (7/3)y……….. (i)
    Now, xy = 84
    (7/3)y x y = 84
    y2 = 12×3
    y = 6 ⇒ x =(7/3) x 6 =14
    Sum of numbers = x + y = 14 + 6 = 20
