World Music Day 2023: World Music Day is an opportunity for people around the world to come together and celebrate the power of music. Music is an important part of each of our daily lives, serving as an important instrument for stress relief, motivation, emotional expression and as a connecting force with others.

• The origins of World Music Day have been traced back to 1982 when French Minister of Culture Jack Lang proposed the idea of celebrating a day of music or Fête de la Musique (festival of music). 
• As per another theory, World Music Day has been celebrated since 1976 when Joel Cohen proposed the idea of an all-night music festival to celebrate the beginning of summer solstice.
