Bengali film ‘Jhilli’ wins best film award in KIFF international section

Debutant filmmaker Ishaan Ghose’s Bengali film ‘Jhilli’ (Discards) got the Best Film award in the international competition section of the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF)

Polish director Ola Jankowsa got the best director crown in the same category, christened as International Competition: Innovation in Moving Images, for her film ‘Anatomia’ (Anatomy).
Tunisian film ‘Streams’, directed by Mehdi Hmli, received the Special Jury Award in this section, organisers said.
The NETPAC Award for Best Film in Asian Select section went to the Bengali film ‘Manikbabur Megh’ (The Cloud and the Man) by another young director Abhinandan Banerjee.
