Inequality is one issue which Indians always mouse away from; we do not want to accept that it is there, and that economic reforms have expanded the block. The economy has been scuffling to maintain a perfect balance between the traditional labour setups and latest technological advancements. The rate of poverty in India is increasing because of the increase in the urban population. The rural people are migrating to cities to find better jobs. Most of these people find an underpaid job that pays only for their food.Besides, a huge number of people live in low lying areas or slums. These people are mostly illiterate and in spite of all efforts their condition remains the sameand there is no satisfactory result.Furthermore, there are many reasons that we can say are the major cause of poverty in India. These causes include corruption, growing population, the wide gap of rich and poor, old customs, illiteracy, unemployment and few more. Also, more population needs more food, houses and money and in the lack of these facilities the poverty grows very quickly. Moreover, the rich are growing richer and the poor are getting poorer creating an economic gap that is difficult to fill up.It affects the lifestyle of people in many ways. Also, it has various effects that include illiteracy, reduced nutrition and diet, poor housing ,childlabour, unemployment, poor hygiene and feminization of poverty, etc.
Besides, this poor people cannot afford a healthy and balanced diet, nice clothes, proper education, a stable and clean house, etc. because all these facilities require money and they don't even have money to feed themselves for a day. Money is not the only problem even Indian government is spending so much money on the poor's and there are schemes like Employment guarantee scheme under which they get guarantee of having 100 days work with the best wages available and rice and other food commodities are available in very low cost for people who comes in below poverty line. So money is not the problem and even policies which provide money will not be sufficient to solve this problem . The missing factor is that people in low class are not motivated to achieve a clear goal. Their goal and thinking are also biased by their financial position. Until and unless we motivate the people and make all the basic facilities available to them it's impossible to remove this problem from society.
