Imagine there are two people in a house and availability of water is 15 liter per day but as time goes on now there are 30 members in the house and the availability of water is same as earlier. In this situation the resource availability is same but the number of people to use these resources is increasing. This condition is similar to India's condition right now. Here the resources are scarce in relation to needs and wants of people but the users of those resources are increasing day-by-day and minute-by-minute. Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the nation on 15th August 2019 said "Untamed rise in the country's population is holding back the development of India. This might be the first time when the Union government is acknowledging the risk of population explosion. Data conclude that India is still in a face of population growth and that the state of population explosion has not yet reached. The new population projection indicate that many of the Asian and African nations will make up more than half of the projected growth of the global population by 2050. India second most populated country after China and who knows we are going to take China's please in some years. 1929 is called the year of great divide because before that the population was in fluctuating state but after 1929 the population continuously rose. Overpopulation is a bigger challenge for India as it poses a great barrier in providing welfare schemes to the people social events like a literacy, poverty and cultural backwardness are the direct and in direct result of uncontrolled population growth. Child marriage restraint act of 1929 popularly knows known as Sharda act was put into force by British Imperial government but it failed to produce the desired results. After independence the Indian government has taken this act as a base and increase to the minimum marriage age for boys and girls as 21 and 18, respectively.
