Balagangadhar Tilak said “Swaraj is my birthright, I shall have it”, which served as an inspiration for future revolutionaries during India’s struggle for freedom.
He was one of the most well-known supporters of the 'radicals' in the Indian National Congress.
Many Indians were inspired by his radical writings. He was imprisoned for 6 years for his writings.
Tilak founded the All India Home Rule League in 1916 with Annie Besant whose motto was self-government within the British Empire for all of India.
