Bodo Sahitya Sabha:
=> Formed on November 16, 1952, at Basugaon in Kokrajhar
=> Objective: to develop and promote Bodo language and literature.
=> First president: Joy Bhadra Hagjer
=> First General Secretary: Sonaram Thaosen
=> HQ : Kokrajhar(Rupnath Brahma Bhawan), BTR region
The formation of the BSS:
=> Outcome of mobilization of bodo youth undertaken by Bodo intellectuals like Modaram Brahma and Gaurikanta Brahma, both residents of Dhubri.
=> Also inspired by the intellectual awakening in Bengal and formed a ‘Boro Literary Club’ at Dhubri in 1950.
Script of Bodo language:
=> In ancient times, Deodhai script - Claimed by Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha
=> Now Assamese script is used to write the Bodo language.
