Why in news:

• The state government of Haryana has launched the Haryana Good Governance Award Scheme 2024 (Haryana Sushaasan Puraskaar Yojana) to promote excellence in governance by recognizing and rewarding innovative practices and exceptional efforts of employees across various government sectors.

Key Details:

• This initiative was introduced by the Chief Secretary of Haryana and applies to all employees working in government departments, boards, corporations, and public sector undertakings across the state.

Objectives of the Scheme:

The primary goal of the Haryana Good Governance Award Scheme is to nurture a culture of excellence in public service by acknowledging individuals and teams who contribute to improved governance. The scheme aims to:

• Encourage Innovation: Recognize innovative practices that enhance governance and public service delivery.
• Promote Teamwork: Reward collaborative efforts that lead to significant improvements in service delivery.
• Enhance Accountability: Ensure that contributions to good governance are officially recognized and recorded in service records.

Award Categories:

The awards under this scheme are divided into the following categories based on the level of recognition:
 

1. State-Level Flagship Scheme Awards:
   
   These awards honor teams involved in major projects that have brought about significant improvements in governance.
   • Recognition: Awarded teams will receive a trophy and an appreciation certificate signed by the Chief Secretary.
   • Service Record Inclusion: The awards will be included in the service records of the winning employees through their respective Administrative Secretaries.
   • Cash Rewards: A total cash prize of ?51,000 will be equally distributed among all team members, regardless of their ranks or positions, ensuring fair recognition.
     
     
      
2. State-Level Awards:
   
   These awards recognize high-performing teams that have excelled in various governance initiatives.
   • Recognition: Winning teams receive a trophy and a certificate of appreciation.
   • Cash Prizes:
     • ?51,000 for the first prize
     • ?31,000 for the second prize
     • ?21,000 for the third prize
   • The cash rewards will be equally divided among all team members.
     
     
      
3. District-Level Awards:
   
   In addition to state-level recognition, the scheme also includes district-level awards to celebrate local governance excellence.
   • Presentation by Deputy Commissioners: The awards will be presented by the Deputy Commissioner in each district.
   • Categories: Each district will recognize teams in three categories.
   • Cash Rewards:
     • ?31,000 for first place
     • ?21,000 for second place
     • ?11,000 for third place
   • Awarded teams will also receive a trophy and certificate of appreciation signed by the Divisional Commissioner.
