Explanation:

Four reservoirs will be constructed in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner to meet existing and projected drinking water needs in nine districts of the state under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

The Union Jal shakti ministery made this announcement recently.

Rs 1,275 crore  have been allocated by the ministry to create sustainable water sources in the escape channels of Indira Gandhi Nagar Yojana (IGNP).

The entire exercise will create an additional storage capacity of 1,100 cusec of water in three districts.

Rs 1,275 crore have been allocated by the Union Jal Shakti Ministry for the purpose.

This will facilitate the state government in meeting its objective of 30 lakh new tap connections.
