Recently, an initiative has been taken to name Darbhanga airport after which great poet of Bihar?
Phanishwar Nath Renu
Ramdhari Singh Dinkar
Vidyapati
Bhikhari Thakur
Darbhanga Airport is a defense airport with a civil enclave developed by the Airports Authority of India.
Vidyapati was born in a Shaivite Brahmin family in the village of Bisfi (now Bisfi) in the present-day Madhubani district of Mithila region of northern Bihar. He was the son of Ganapati Thakur. Vidyapati himself served in the court of various kings of the Oinvar dynasty of Mithila. Vidyapati first worked in the court of Kirti Singh, who ruled Mithila from about 1370-80. At this time Vidyapati composed 'Kirttilata', which was a long hymn-poem for his patron in verse. He is also known as 'Maithil Kavi Kokil' (Poet Koel of Maithili) Padavali and Kirtilata are his immortal works.
