Explanation:

• Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission was launched on February 2013 under the name “UMEED”, by Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Society.
• Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission has made significant progress in mobilizing the poor and vulnerable women into community institutions.
• JKRLM has also supported these women SHGs through provisioning of Revolving Fund (RF)and Community Investment Fund (CIF) to invest in their existing livelihoods activities.
• JKSRLM has linked these SHGs to banks as well through its, Self Help Group Bank linkage programme for enabling them to access easy credit and invest in enhanced livelihoods.
• Currently, one of the major mission objectives is the formation of 11,000 SHGs by September 30 2021.
• In order to provide ready market and promote Self Help Groups (SHG) products, establishment of permanent Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) haats at district level with the support of district administration was impressed upon.
• In order to streamline the whole set of complex processes, Self Help Groups will be deputed to the rural haats on rotation basis.
• For better targeting and prioritization, identification of bank branches where credit linkage is more than 50 loan accounts will b done as early as possible.
• Such accounts, upon identification, will be supported through engagement of bank sakhis at the branch level.
• These bank sakhis will further assist SHG members in availing various banking facilities and social security schemes.
