Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ program which aims to provide drones to 15,000 women Self Help Groups (SHGs) during the period 2024–25 to 2025–2026 for providing rental services to farmers for agriculture purposes.

• NAMO Drone Didi addresses the need for modernizing agricultural practices and boosting productivity.
• By placing cutting-edge drone technology in the hands of rural women, the scheme transforms them into key players in the rural economy.
• The Finance Ministry has allocated Rs 500 crore for the Namo Drone Didi scheme. 
• The scheme will be governed at the Central level by the Empowered Committee of of the Secretaries of Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Department of Rural Development, Department of Fertilizers, Civil Aviation and Ministry of Women and Child Development.
