Doodh Ganga Yojana :
launches on September, 2010 The new name Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) has been replaced with the change in the nature of the financial assistance of this project. Providing subsidy in lieu of interest-based loan. The following provisions have been made under this project.
The main objectives of the scheme: -
To prepare modern dairy farm for clean milk production.
Encouraging fodder to prepare and protect the milch animals of the best breed.
To make basic changes in the unorganized sector, to prepare the initial products of the milk on the village star.
Improving traditional methods of milk production to business level.
Generating self-employment and giving basic facilities to unorganized dairy sector.
The format of Milk Udhami Upliftment Scheme (Milk Ganga Project) was changed in September 2010, till March 2013, a total of 5137 cases were sanctioned by NABARD and 23157 milk cattle were purchased in which 27.29 crore was sanctioned as gratuity.
This scheme was postponed until June 2012 to May 2013 due to lack of funds. Only pending cases were being settled. According to the conditions, the scheme was revived from June 1, 2013 to July 15, 2013, when the Government of India provided a grant of Rs. 12 crore in the last week of May 2013. There was a provision to grant new loan cases only.
