    • .Sarala Devi Chaudhurani or Sarala Ghosal, (9 September 1872 – 18 August 1945) was an educationist and political activist, who founded Bharat Stree Mahamandal in Allahabad in 1910. This was the first women's organization in India.
    • One of the primary goals of the organization was to promote female education.The centre was formed in Lahore in November 1910 at a personal meeting of women.

    Pandita Ramabai Saraswati:

    • On 23 April 1858, social activist and educationist Pandita Ramabai was born at Canara District in present-day Karnataka.
    • Pandita Ramabai founded Arya Mahila Samaj (Arya Women's Society).
    • Influenced by the ideals of the Brahmo Samaj and Hindu reformers, the purpose of the society was to promote the cause of women's education and deliverance from the oppression of child marriage
    • Pandita Ramabai Sarasvati, was a women's rights & education activist, a pioneer in the education and emancipation of women in India, and a social reformer.
    • She was the first woman to be awarded the titles of Pandita as a Sanskrit scholar and Sarasvati after being examined by the faculty of the University of Calcutta.
    • Calcutta University conferred on her the titles of Pandita and Sarasvati in recognition of her knowledge of various Sanskrit works.
    • She was awarded with the Kaisari-i-Hind Medal for community service in 1919, awarded by the British Colonial Government of India
    • She was one of the ten women delegates of the Congress session of 1889.

    Ramabai Ranade:

    • Ramabai Ranade (25 January 1862 – 25 January 1924) was an Indian social worker and one of the first women's rights activists in the early 20th century. 
    • She founded the Ladies Social Conference (Bharat Mahila Parishad), under the parent organisation National Social Conference, in 1904 in Bombay.
