    Explanation:

Leghaemoglobin (also leghemoglobin or legoglobin) is an oxygen carrier and hemoprotein found in the nitrogen-fixing root nodules of leguminous plants.Leg-haemoglobin is found in root nodules of leguminous plants such as alfalfa and soyabean. Soy leghemoglobin is short for legume hemoglobin -- the hemoglobin found in soy, a leguminous plant. Leghemoglobin is a protein found in plants that carries heme, an iron-containing molecule that is essential for life. Root nodules may appear pink because they contain leghaemoglobin. This is the only haemoglobin found in plants. It absorbs oxygen and provides anaerobic conditions for bacteria in the root nodules.
