Haifa Day was commemorated today( 23 September 2024) in New Delhi to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Battle of Haifa.

During the event, Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, highlighted the strong ties between the two nations. He commended both countries for preserving their sovereignty and building robust democracies.

Indian soldiers from the British Indian Army, who fought in World War I in 1918, played a key role in the Battle of Haifa.

Their efforts led to a decisive victory over the Ottoman Empire and its German allies.
