First son’s cows =n/2
Second son cows =n/4

Third son’s cows =n/5

According to the question,

(n/2+n/4+n/5)+7=n

⇒((10n+5n+4n)/20)+7=n

⇒19n/20+7=n

⇒n-19n/20=7⇒n/20=7

⇒ n = 20 × 7 = 140

∴ Total number of cows = 140
