Endogenic geomorphic processes are geological processes that originate within the Earth and shape the Earth's surface through various internal mechanisms. These processes are driven by forces and energy sources that originate within the Earth. They include: Diastrophism- all processes that move, elevate or build up portions of the earth’s crust, including: (i) Orogenic processes involving mountain building through severe folding (ii) Epeirogenic processes involving uplift or warping of large parts of the earth’s crust (iii) Earthquakes, involving local relatively minor movements (iv) Plate tectonics involving horizontal movements of crustal plates. Volcanism: includes the movement of molten rock (magma) onto or toward the earth’s surface, resulting in the formation of many intrusive and extrusive landforms. Weathering and Karst processes are types of exogenic geomorphic processes.
