A dishonest milkman professes to sell his milk at cost price but he mixes it with water and thereby gains 30%. The percentage of water in the mixture is?

    10%

    Incorrect Answer

    15%

    Incorrect Answer

    30%

    Correct Answer

    25%

    Incorrect Answer
    Explanation:

We will apply alligaton on % profit. If he sells the
milk at CP, he gains 0%. But if he sells water at CP, he
    gains 100%.
    Therefore ,
    Ratio of milk to water in the mixture should be = 100 – 30 / 30 – 0
    = 70 /30 = 7/3
    Thus , % of water in mixture = 3 × 100 / 3+7
    = 3×100/10
    = 30%
