Amit Shah Unveils Peshwa Bajirao's Statue at NDA, Inspires Cadets

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a grand statue of Peshwa Bajirao at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune, on July 4, 2025.

He urged cadets to draw inspiration from the Maratha warrior’s unmatched leadership and commitment to India’s sovereignty.

Key Points:

A 13.5-foot bronze equestrian statue of Peshwa Bajirao I was unveiled at the Trishakti Gate of NDA, Khadakwasla, by Amit Shah on July 4, 2025.
The statue, weighing 4,000 kg, was donated by the Shreemath Thorle Bajirao Peshwa Pratishthan.
During his speech, Amit Shah praised Bajirao’s undefeated military record of 41 victories and called NDA the ideal place for the statue’s legacy.
He emphasized the values of courage, discipline, and patriotism, urging cadets to emulate Bajirao’s leadership in modern service to the nation.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and senior military officials.
