Karnam Malleswari Appointed as First Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Sports University

The Government of Delhi has appointed former Padma Shri-winning Indian weightlifter Karnam Malleshwari as the first vice-chancellor of Delhi Sports University.
Malleshwari is the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics. She won a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
She has also been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award (1995), Arjuna Award (1994) and Padma Shri (1999).
