The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has reintroduced the SPREE 2025 scheme to encourage registration of unregistered employers and employees.

The amnesty initiative aims to boost ESI coverage without retrospective penalties or inspections.

• SPREE 2025 will run from July 1 to December 31, 2025, offering a one-time window for voluntary registration under the ESI Act.
• Employers who register during the scheme will not face inspections or demands for past contributions, and benefits will apply only from the date of registration.
• The initiative promotes inclusion of contractual, casual, and temporary workers under ESIC’s health and social security benefits.
• Registration can be completed digitally through the ESIC portal, Shram Suvidha Portal, and the MCA portal.
• The original SPREE scheme (2017) registered over 88,000 employers and 1.02 crore employees, highlighting the policy's success in widening the ESI net.
