Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the "Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan" (DAJGUA) in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, on Second October 2024.

Key Points

• Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan aims to foster holistic development in tribal villages, bringing transformative changes to the socio-economic landscape of the region.
• The scheme aims to cover 63,843 villages, with a focus on improving the lives of over 5 crore tribal people across 549 districts and 2,911 blocks in 30 States/UTs.
• The total outlay of the scheme is  Rs. 79,156 crore.
• The builds on the successes of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN), launched in November 2023, focusing on the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG), with a budget of Rs. 24,104 crores.
