Dr. Usha Thakur was honored with the 12th Vishwa Hindi Samman for her contributions to Hindi literature at a Hindi Samvad ceremony hosted by the Indian Embassy in Nepal. 

• She has enhanced Hindi language proficiency and translated over 40 literary works between Nepali and Hindi.
• This accolade is bestowed by the Indian government’s Ministry of External Affairs.
• The 12th World Hindi Conference took place in Fiji in 2023.
• Dr. Thakur received the award at Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, as she was unable to attend the event in Fiji. She highlighted that both visitors and residents of Nepal frequently use Hindi for communication.
