Assam state Cabinet has decided to name the upcoming Electronic City in Jagiroad as Ratan Tata Electronic City to pay tribute to late Rattan Tata for is eminent contributions for the developement of the state.

•  Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made the announcement on social media, highlighting the state’s recognition of Tata’s role in its growth.
• This decision underscores the Tata Group’s longstanding engagement in Assam and its pivotal role in shaping the state’s industrial landscape.
• The announcement comes shortly after Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran highlighted Ratan Tata’s deep-rooted connection with Assam at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment Summit in February.
• Chandrasekaran emphasized that the Tata Group’s relationship with Assam has been nurtured over decades and is based on a shared commitment to progress in the Northeast.
