Food delivery giant Zomato has initiated a partnership with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to provide pre-ordered meal delivery services to rail passengers in a pilot programme.

• This initiative, starting with a proof of concept (PoC), will enable passengers to book meals via IRCTC's e-catering portal. Initially, this service will be available at five railway stations: New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi.
• IRCTC aims to expand its food service offerings for passengers by collaborating with Zomato, providing greater choice for railway travellers. Passengers at these five stations will be the first to benefit from this partnership.
• Passengers can now enjoy pre-ordered meals delivered directly to their train journeys, providing an additional level of convenience and choice.
