Bulandshahr Jail in Uttar Pradesh has been awarded a five-star rating by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India keeping in mind the quality, storage and hygiene of the food cooked.

• Superintendent of Bulandshahr District Jail Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal said that the kitchen's food quality, storage and hygiene met the parameters and passed the FSSAI team's stringent measures.
• The team found in its inspection that the jail authorities and inmates have done extensive work for beautification, cleanliness and food safety. While the staff here also use clean aprons, full-sleeve gloves and caps for cooking.
• Significantly, after Farrukhabad Jail, Bulandshahr Jail is the second jail from Uttar Pradesh to get this tag. The District Jail was awarded the Excellent Certificate by rating Five stars.
