    In 2012, the difference between the profit shares of B and C is Rs 650 and profit share of A is Rs 5200. If investment of A is Rs7000 less than 3000 times the investment time (in months) of C, find the total investment of all three.

    Rs 51000

    Incorrect Answer

    Rs 46000

    Incorrect Answer

    Rs 48000

    Correct Answer

    Rs 52000

    Incorrect Answer

    Rs 45000

    Incorrect Answer
    Explanation:

    Ratio of profit share of A : B : C is
    P*8 : (P+2000)*Q : (P+4000)*Q
    So [(P+4000)*Q – (P+2000)*Q]/[ P*8 : (P+2000)*Q : (P+4000)*Q ] * 16250 = 650 …………………..(1)
    Also given [8P]/[ P*8 : (P+2000)*Q : (P+4000)*Q ] * 16250 = 5200………………………(2)
    Divide both equations (1) and (2)
    P = 2000Q ………………………………(3)
    Also given, P = 3000*Q – 7000 ……………………….(4)
    From (3) and (4) now
    Q = 7, P = 14000
    So total investment = 14000 + 16000 + 18000 = Rs 48000
