• The original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of India is confined to federal cases only, whereas the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of America covers cases relating to naval forces, maritime activities, ambassadors, etc in addition to federal cases. • The Appellate Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of India covers constitutional, civil and criminal cases but in the case of the American Supreme Court, it covers only constitutional cases.
•  There are no provisions for advisory jurisdiction in the American Supreme Court, whereas the Indian Supreme Court has advisory jurisdiction.
