Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, took charge as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Indian Army's Northern Command, headquartered in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. He succeeds Lieutenant General M. V. Suchindra Kumar, who served in the position from February 2024 to April 2025.
As the GOC-in-C of the Northern Command, Lieutenant General Sharma will oversee operations along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan and the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, playing a crucial role in maintaining security and stability in the region.
