1, 2 and 5 only
Statement 1: It originates in Karnataka. Statement 2 and 3: It flows through Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puduchery before out-falling in Bay of Bengal. Statement 4 and 5: Both of these statements refer to the Krishna river which is a major source of irrigation for Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The sharing of waters of the Cauvery has been the source of a serious conflict between the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The genesis of this conflict rests in two agreements in 1892 and 1924 between the erstwhile Madras Presidency and Kingdom of Mysore.
