Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations across 18 states and union territories under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The virtual inauguration ceremony was conducted from Deshnoke, Bikaner, Rajasthan. This initiative aims to modernize India's railway infrastructure, enhancing passenger amenities and integrating regional architectural designs.

1. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme launched in December 2022 by the Ministry of Railways aims to transform over 1,300 stations into modern hubs with multimodal integration and future-ready facilities.

The 103 stations inaugurated span 86 districts across 18 states and union territories, including Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
3. The redevelopment of these stations was completed at a total cost exceeding Rs.1,100 crore, focusing on modernizing facilities and improving the overall passenger experience.
4. Upgrades include improved waiting areas, enhanced lighting, better signage, and facilities catering to differently-abled individuals, aiming to provide airport-like experiences at railway stations.
5. The redesigned stations incorporate local art and culture, reflecting the heritage of their respective regions, thereby promoting tourism and regional pride.
6. During the event, PM Modi also laid foundation stones and dedicated various development projects worth over Rs.26,000 crore, including railway electrification and state highway enhancements.
