The Delhi government officially approved the 'Mahila Samridhi Yojana', which aims to provide financial assistance of Rs 2500 to women.

• The announcement was made by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a cabinet meeting held on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
• To fund this initiative, the Delhi government has allocated a substantial budget of Rs 5,100 crores.
• The Chief Minister also announced the formation of a committee to oversee the implementation of the scheme.
